Course              A sketch map of the course layout can be found at the bottom of this page.
The course is 9 / 18 hole, 2896 yards and par 35, the longest hole being 445 yards. It was designed by David Williams of Colwyn Bay who also designed courses at Reigate Hill Golf Club in Surrey, North Weald Golf Club in Harlow, Essex and Gainsborough Golf Club in Lincolnshire.

Hole 1 is 419 yards and a par 4. You start from the first tee with a stunning view of the north Pennines. The hole has a light downward slope to the green and there is then a 100 yard walk to the second tee.

Hole 2 is 277 yards and also a par 4. This is a trickier hole, up and over the brow of the hill with a slight dogleg to the left and a green nestled close to the hedge.

Hole 3 is 351 yards and a par 4. This again has a slight dogleg to the left and there is a ditch in front of the green as a test of your length judgement.

Hole 4 is 255 yards and par 4. This is a straight and level hole, driving towards the River Eden itself and with beautiful views over the valley towards Brough castle.

Hole 5 is 273 yards and par 4. This is a flat drive with a slight dogleg, this time to the right. The view from the tee is roughly south towards the source of the Eden in the dramatic Mallerstang valley.

Hole 6 is 386 yards and par 4. The drive is from an elevated tee, down a right to left slope and with a slight dogleg to the left. The green is only 20 yards from a stream so this is another test of judgement and accuracy.

Hole 7 is 121 yards, easily the shortest hole, and has a par 3. This is a straight drive to the green, avoiding the stream that runs to the left of the fairway and then behind the green.

Hole 8 is 445 yards, the longest drive, and a par 4. The drive is over a stream, negotiating two dry ditches before reaching a tranquil green nestling under a disused railway line.

Hole 9 is 405 yards and par 4. A challenging hole to finish your round as the shot is slightly up hill from the tee and then down hill over a stream and up on to the green.

There are plans for second tees to be installed for those who wish to play a full 18 holes.
